Moroccan Cuisine

One of the best reasons to visit Morocco is the food—starting with a steaming, spice-rich tagine, slow-cooked with tender meats, vegetables, and bold flavors like saffron, cumin, and preserved lemon. From fluffy couscous and freshly baked khobz to harira soup and honey-drenched pastries, Moroccan cuisine is a celebration of flavor and tradition.

And don’t forget the famous mint tea—fresh, fragrant, and poured high as a timeless symbol of Moroccan hospitality.

Moroccan Riads

Staying in a traditional riad is a highlight of any trip to Morocco. These restored guesthouses, often hidden behind unassuming walls, open into peaceful courtyards filled with fountains, carved woodwork, and vibrant Moroccan tilework.

With arched doorways, intricate mosaics, and rooftop terraces overlooking the medina, riads offer an intimate and visually stunning way to experience Moroccan hospitality and design.

FAQs

Is Morocco Safe?

Yes—with the right precautions and a trusted tour company like Never Lost Travel, Morocco is quite safe. However, Morocco is quite a conservative Muslim country. Local customs and culture must be respected.  This includes appropriate attire and respecting Moroccan laws. Traveling in groups at night, particularly as women, is advisable.

With Never Lost Travel, we handle all logistics, stay in reputable accommodations, and work with vetted local guides to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?

U.S. travelers are able to have 90 day free visa upon arrival. Just be sure that your passport is valid for 6 months AFTER your departure date from Morocco.

Are there any health concerns?

As with Egypt, routine vaccinations are recommended. Please always refer to the CDC website for the most up to date information.

As in Egypt, do NOT drink the tap water. Most common health concerns are stomach upset, dehydration, and sunburn. Be sure to stay hydrated, bring sunscreen, and bring medication for stomach upset. Your doctor may prescribe you a prophylactic antibiotic for traveler's diarrhea.

In the large cities in Morocco, the healthcare is generally pretty good. Our guides will be able to direct you to the appropriate care if needed.

What should I wear in Morocco?

Morocco, more even so than Egypt,  is a conservative country, so we recommend light, breathable clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Women will to have knees and shoulders covered visiting mosques, so a scarf is advisable. Loose linen or cotton clothing is perfect for the heat!
