Is Jordan Safe?

Yes, Jordan is one of the safest countries in the Middle East. It has a stable government and a welcoming culture. As with any destination, staying aware of your surroundings and following local guidelines is recommended.

Do I need a visa to travel to Jordan?

U.S. travelers will need a visa to visit Jordan, but this can be obtained upon arrival for around 40 Jordanian dinar and is valid for 30 days. 

Are there any health concerns?

Similar to Egypt and Morocco,  routine vaccinations are recommended. Please always refer to the CDC website for the most up to date information.

As in Morocco and Egypt, do NOT drink the tap water. Most common health concerns are stomach upset, dehydration, and sunburn. Be sure to stay hydrated, bring sunscreen, and bring medication for stomach upset. Your doctor may prescribe you a prophylactic antibiotic for traveler's diarrhea.

What should I wear in    Jordan?

Dress modestly—lightweight clothing that covers shoulders and knees is respectful. Women may want to bring a scarf for religious sites.

What's the best time to visit Jordan?

The most comfortable travel seasons are spring (March–May) and fall (September–November), when temperatures are mild and ideal for sightseeing and desert adventures.
